A Better Way to Explore Home Prices

Graphics

We’ve built a new interactive map that visualizes housing data at the ZIP code level.

  • Each dot represents a ZIP code.
  • Dot size is proportional to population.
  • Dot color reflects home prices.

The map has a “Local View” mode—when you zoom in, both the sizes and colors automatically re-scale based only on the ZIP codes in the viewable area. This makes it easy to compare areas within a region without the results being skewed by national extremes.

How to explore:

  1. Open the full-screen version (highly recommended).
  2. Zoom in with a double-click, pinch, or the plus/minus controls.
  3. Hover or click on any bubble to see details for that ZIP code.

Here’s a quick Loom walkthrough showing how it works. The map is viewable below. Prices are sourced from Zillow.
